Pageant Vixen Talks: Valerie Remillard

It has been weeks since we last released our interview. Probably the last interview we released was about Tarik Subara, Manhunt International 2012 Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now this week, we will get to know about Miss Earth Canada 2012, Valerie Remillard. She represented Canada last December in Miss Earth 2012. Let's get to know her in our "Pageant Vixen Talks."



UBC: 3 Words that BEST describes you. 
Valerie: Three words that best describe me are: Natural, Authentic and Passionate.  
  
UBC: What do you like to do on a normal day?
Valerie: On my normal day, I usually get up early in the morning to go to the gym, take a nice healthy lunch and then go to work. I am a nurse, so my days and schedules are always different depending on whether I work in the evening or day time. I relax after work and If I have time, I spend it with my family and friends.

UBC: What are the TOP 3 things that you cannot forget to bring as a beauty queen?
Valerie: The three things that I won’t forget are my camera, my make-up bag and the most important thing : my smile!

 

UBC: Why did you join Miss Earth?
Valerie: I decided to join the Miss Earth (Canada) because I believe in the mission of promoting environmental awareness and the preservation of our planet, this is truly something that I believe in. I admire women who want to change the world, who cares for the environment with a healthy body and mind. To represent Canada is a privilege and a great honour for me.

UBC: How did Miss Earth - Canada changed your life?
Valerie: Miss Earth Canada has changed my life in so many ways. It helped me realize that as a woman I am proud of my country. Every day, I learn something about how precious our Earth is because I am now surrounded by passionate people who allow me to see other horizons and coming from a small village, it opens my eyes and offers new perspectives and that is why i love being Miss Earth Canada 2012.



UBC: As Miss Earth - Canada, what is your environmental advocacy?
Valerie: Recycling is something that I practice a lot, however, Education will be my environmental advocacy and as a nurse, I would like to educate children regarding the importance of taking care of our environment and the effect it has on our health. I believe that our bodies, like the Earth, needs to be taken care of.

UBC: How will you balance time for family and time for pageantry?

Valerie: One thing that I am proud of my family is their love, understanding and support to whatever I do. They always encourage me to pursue my passion. They understand that as Miss Earth Canada, I have some commitments and responsibilities. Balancing the time for family and pageantry is not even an issue. I spend quality time with my family whenever there’s an opportunity.

UBC: What advice did Ashlea Moor give you?

Valerie: Miss Earth Canada 2011 Ashlea Moore told me to have fun, to enjoy every moment and that being Miss Earth Canada is truly a unique opportunity and a privilege. Consider each moment as a gift and welcome every opportunity as time goes quickly.





UBC: How are you preparing for the pageant?
Valerie: I am grateful to be surrounded by the exceptional team of Miss Earth Canada. My National Director Mr. Ronaldo Soriano Trono is a wonderful down to earth person. He gives me advise, tips and guides me for my preparation. I don't feel any pressure from him and he encourages me to enjoy every moment of this experience. To represent Canada to my best ability and the rest will be just icing on the cake. We have been having a lot of rendezvous for photo shoots (for Miss Earth Calendar), Make-up courses, physical training, visiting schools and hospitals. We are preparing our National Costume and Evening gown at the moment. It is truly exciting!

UBC: Will we still see you in another pageant?
Valerie: For now I'm only concentrating and focusing on the Miss Earth Pageant. This is a dream a come true.

UBC: How will you treasure this experience?
Valerie: I will treasure this experience by enjoying every moment of it. By focusing on the positive aspect of it and by not having any expectations.




UBC: Beauty Tip To All. 
Valerie: The best beauty advice I can give to all is the ones that I am practicing myself. Sleep well , eat well and stay well.

UBC: Message to All
Valerie: Being Miss Earth Canada,  is a great achievement for me, this is a dream come true and a chance to promote my message and my ideas. I want to show the world that I am a strong and determined woman who wants to make a difference.  Thank you very much for this wonderful interview and for your interest in getting to know me.
