21 year old and Nuclear medicine student - Melanie Valiente wins the Miss Republica Portuguesa 2012 and will represent Portugal at Miss World 2012 at Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China this August. She stands 5'7. She was crowned by the 2011 winner - Barbara Franco
Valiente once participated @ Miss Latina America of the World. Portugal haven't placed at Miss World since Ana De Almeida placed 2nd Runner Up at Miss World 1971.
