Miss World England 2011 is Miss UK 2011!


The reigning Miss England, Alize Mounter, was crowned Miss UK at the glittering Scottish Retail Trust Ball in Glasgow this week.

Miss England 2011 Alize Lily Mounter was presented with her new title in front of a 400 strong audience made up of retailers from across the UK, after placing highest out of all the British contestants at Miss World earlier last month and narrowly missing out on the crown to Miss Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos. With her new title of Miss UK, Alize will go on to compete in Miss International next year.

Alize, who placed 4th in the competition overall, making her the highest ranking English representative for 20 years, said, "I am so thrilled with my achievement. I had such an amazing time throughout the competition and met some fantastic people, many of which will remain friends for the rest of my life. It was an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget."

It was at Miss World where she also gained her new role as Miss World Europe, where she will represent Europe on an international scale.

Alize, who wore a gown by Zeleb added, "Next year is going to be a very exciting and interesting year and I can't wait to find out what is in store for me. I anticipate carrying out charity work in all pockets of the Globe which will me a fantastic opportunity for me."

Alize was sponsored by David Douglass of Front Models Limited, who coached and mentored her in the run up to the competition. Alize is currently studying Journalism at Roehampton University and is living in Kensington, London.
